The Joiners, Southampton Darkness descends on the stage, as the much anticipated set is about to begin. The band pause – adding to the electric tension building up – before storming the arena as drums, bass and vocals connect to blaze out their classic hard rock anthems in front of the bouncing, packed out crowd.

The brainchild of Ian Mortimer, Skin For A Canvas – one-man acoustic ambient project – tries to deliver something to the ears of its listeners. What it tries to deliver though, I’m not too sure. Don’t get me wrong, the album is good.

HMV Forum. London “Help for Heroes” On Off Charity Gig I arrive at the Forum at midday as my assignment is to shoot photo’s of the set up for a production piece on the difficulties of setting up the stadium KISS show in a tiny venue, apparently the smallest they’ve played in 40 years.
