at The Lighthouse Poole, Saturday 14th June
Forty years after they first stepped on stage together, south coast rock and soul band The Agency are set to take their final bow, playing what will be their last ever show, at Lighthouse Poole on Saturday 14th June. Formed in May 1985, The Agency came together through a shared passion for the timeless sounds of Atlantic, Stax, and Motown soul/R&B. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of 60s soul, the band quickly carved out a reputation for delivering no-nonsense, high-energy, heartfelt performances that left audiences spellbound.
The core of The Agency’s sound was built on the incredible chemistry and talents of its members:
Andy Wilkinson – Guitar/Vocals
Tim Holt – Guitar/Vocals
Melvin Carter – Drums
Richard Furter – Bass
Martin Bradford – Saxophone
Graham Millman – Trumpet/Vocals
Simon Holt – Trombone
Over their illustrious career, The Agency released six albums, comprising mostly classic soul cover versions alongside a few original compositions. This seamless blend of soulful nostalgia and creative flair made their live performances unforgettable, earning them a dedicated following. They became a staple of the south coast music scene and were widely regarded as the region’s biggest local band.

Highlights of The Agency’s career include opening for the legendary Van Morrison and sharing the stage with the iconic Zoot Money, whom they had the honour of performing with and several times. These moments, combined with their relentless dedication to authentic soul music, solidified their legacy as a band that absolutely lived and breathed the genre.
In 2018, after more than three decades of electrifying audiences, The Agency retired from regular live performances when several band members relocated to France. However, their music and legacy continued to resonate with fans and fellow musicians alike.
As 2025 marks the 40thof The Agency, the band is set to celebrate their incredible journey with one final, highly anticipated live show. This one-off event will be a fitting tribute to the band’s enduring impact on the soul/R&B scene and a heartfelt goodbye to their loyal fans who have supported them for four decades.
