Swedish-born Thai trans female singer-songwriter Waritsara Yui Karlberg “aka” Ethereal UK; who is based in Dorset is thrilled to announce the release of my new single “Forbidden Pearls” on November 15th, lifted from the forthcoming album Spectral. The track was recorded and co-produced with Matt Black at Hangover Hill Records Recording Studio in Wimborne. It’s a piece that features heartfelt expressions of a journey as an artist and the importance of embracing individuality and creativity in a world often constrained by conventional norms.
“Forbidden Pearls” is an introspective and evocative song that captures the essence of nonconformity within the music world. With its ambient and psychadelic digital Dream/Pop sound reminiscent of artists like London Grammar and Lana Del Rey, the song explores the artist’s struggle with mainstream acceptance while celebrating the beauty of creating art that may not resonate with the typical audience.
The track features beautifully intricate guitar arrangements, a combination of traditional Thai instruments and evocative lyrics that challenge the notion of mainstream acceptance in the music industry. In her own words, Ethereal UK describes “Forbidden Pearls” as a reflection of her experience as an artist whose music may not fit into conventional categories. Yui aims to inspire others through her music, encouraging them to embrace their true selves and let go of societal pressures. “Forbidden Pearls” stands as a testament to her journey and the beauty of creation that arises from diversity and authenticity.
