South Coast-based Americana/Roots-influenced singer/songwriter Isobel Thatcher announces this month a brand new single “Wings”, which was recorded with Jolyon Dixon at “Tunnel Rat Recording Studios”. The track is the follow-up to her last single “Forget”. The multi-skilled Isobel composed/arranged the song, as well as providing the lead and backing vocals along with rhythm/electric guitar.
Isobel is also joined by her brother Dominic on multiple saxophones and by her father Tom on bass. Drums and percussion are performed by old friend and experienced musician Chris Kirby-Williams. Additional Lead guitar, keys, production and recording was done by established musician Jolyon Dixon, who has performed with the likes of Pete Townsend, Rachel Fuller and Amy Macdonald.
The new single is a Blues-tinged, rocking Country track about the realisation of a person’s true identity once the rose tinted glasses have come off. “Wings” has so much going on with so many different aspects to enjoy, with all the musicians adding something distinctive to the mix. Isobel’s fine voice is surrounded by so much notable talent with layered saxophones; infectious foot-tapping rhythms, keys and some notable electric guitar.
“Wings” is available now!!
