Blackpool Rockers (sic) the “Takeaway Thieves” release their new single “Soothe Me” this month. The track is the first track taken from their debut album “9”, due for release September 17th. The album was recorded and produced with the expert help of the Award Winning Dave Draper. Bassist Adam explains “after a long and patient wait, it feels great to finally release the first single “Soothe Me”… It’s a masterclass of both songwriting and production” and vocalist Pete adds “there are some musical surprises articulating in this new chapter of Takeaway Thieves”.
The band is one of the first to release their album with NFT’s (Non-Fungible Tokens) using smart contracts on the Blockchain. This new technology has recently taken the art world by storm and the band believes it’s the future for music. They are offering all songs including “Soothe Me” off of their debut album up for sale and through Blockchain Technology, the buyer owns the rights to the song. Guitarist Neil explains “the idea as a music fan myself is fantastic: we are basically selling a percentage of a song; shares if you will, that someone who supports and believes in the band would love to own”.
“Soothe Me” is a wonderfully melodic slice of Rock with the 5-piece band combining their considerable skills and experience to bring a track that the NWOCR family will certainly embrace with open arms. The song, which is about love and passion features so many aspects that all come together; with loads of different influences from all of your favourite bands of the past. From the standout twin guitars to the powerful vocal delivery; infectious harmonies, spot-on rhythms, and the middle eight which gives more than a nod to the Dire Straits classic “Sultans of Swing”. It’s just a short 3 minutes and 6 seconds promising taster of what is to come on the new album “9”.
