Destiny is something that always somehow finds a way and the meeting of Music producer Matt Black with singer Stuart Hutton aka the “One-Eyed Man” has brought us to this point, which has culminated in the creation of a new single of an emotive release “I Will Be Reminded”. If you have had the privilege of listing to any of Stuart’s previous work; you will already know that if performing live or from a recording, this chap can stir up emotions even from the hardest of hearts. He brings together some wonderfully descriptive lyrics that come from his own seemingly fragile heart. It can be for some uncomfortable to show their own feelings and Stuart thankfully for the listener, wears his heart comfortably on his sleeve.
The track is dedicated to a late friend called Milan Middleweerd that Stuart became good friends with while travelling in the Southern Hemisphere. Stuart explains “Milan was always a big fan of my music and was also one of the most kind; compassionate, caring people that I have ever met. I will take this song to all the places I travel from here on in and I will always be reminded of him”. If you cast your eyes across the lyrics below, you will see the destiny of this meeting truly meant a lot and that Milan’s death was such a difficult loss to bare.
The song’s simplistic instrumentation makes way for the powerful impact of Stuart’s sublime vocal, which stirs up the compassionate memories and the deep feeling of loss. The understated use of just the acoustic guitar and the absence of anything else suitably brings everything together beautifully. His drip-fed singles are a great way for his audience to get to know him and we look forward to seeing him with some further live performances in 2024.
