Grunge-influenced South Coast Alt/Rock band “Solcura” return with the follow-up to their impressive last single “Keep It Close”. The track entitled God Now released on 13th January features thought-provoking lyrics that conjure up images of a subject struggling with their own spirituality.
The band have already independently released their self-produced debut album “Serotonin” in 2021, played the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock the same year and have supported bands such as Pulled Apart By Horses and Palm Reader. The new track is to form part of a five-track EP to be released later this year.
“God Now” is progressive with foreboding riffs and dark melancholic melodies, the quartet bring with them many significant skills along with a host of influences. The track shifts in many different directions with its diverse soundscape that sounds somewhere between Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots. It’s a dark subject that asks some probing questions around spirituality and beliefs. The vocals are powerfully poignant, while the atmospheric guitars create a darkened ambience and the rhythm section gives the track an unbounding momentum.
