Dorset Rock band Solcura prepare to release a new track in December which is the first new material since the release of their independently released and self-produced debut album Serotonin. The new track “Keep It Close” shows the band really getting their creative juices flowing with an atmospheric number that features plenty of interesting elements to keep the listener occupied. The track is the first from a new five-track EP, which is planned for release in early 2023.
The track opens with its smoulderingly atmospheric intro before Harry’s fine vocal starts up, along with effect-fed guitars and tribal rhythms. It reminds me of the output of a 1990s Pearl Jam with is passionate vocal delivery and the way Harry pushes his voice to add to the song’s emotive demeanour. I really enjoy the melodic nature of the track with an alternative streak running throughout, it’s hard not to enjoy it. I would recommend a few listens to really get the full benefit of everything the track has to offer. It’s certainly one of the band’s best creations to date and bodes well for the other songs on the new EP.
