News: Original Music Awards Dorset in association with Absolute Music Announcement

Welcome to the OMA, Original Music Awards Dorset in association with Absolute Music, the brand new event giving recognition to original music in the Dorset area.
Created by Matt Black and Mel Berkhauer from Hangover Ltd and founders of Live And Unheard, movers and shakers from the music scene have been invited to collaborate and come together for a very special awards night on 20th January 2023.
Industry guests will present 13 awards with over 30 nominated music acts, all nominees will receive a complimentary ticket.
The objective is to celebrate original music in the Dorset area connecting the community together plus engaging the national music industry.
Retailer, recording studios and education provider Absolute Music is the headline sponsor and proud to support and encourage it’s first year. Award sponsors include Sontronics microphones, Lighthouse Poole’s Centre For The Arts and Forest FM. Other organisations invited are BBC Music Introducing, PPL and Musicians Union. It is time for the spotlight to shine on Dorset’s incredible original music scene. This will be a fantastic event as the Allendale Centre in Wimborne is transformed into a rock and roll awards venue. Tickets include a 2 course meal option plus admission with live music entertainment. The box office will open once the nominations have been announced in November.
