A tasty alternative to Glastonbury, Upton House Food and Drink Festival is a sure-fire feast for all the senses offering a family day out in beautiful surroundings with food and drink from around the world and a busy bill of live music.
Alongside a mouth-watering array of international street food, as well as gin and craft beer bars, arts and crafts, and early Saturday and Sunday kids’ fun, there’s entertainment on two stages – one featuring the best regional produce in the hands of top chefs hosting cooking shows and demonstrations, the other a host of top performers including guaranteed crowd-pleasing tributes to David Bowie, U2, Arctic Monkeys, and Madness.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors again this year,” says traders’ manager Lucy Evans.
“Last year was our first event and we had a brilliant response from the public even though we lost a few traders at the last minute due to the rules around Covid. This year we have the event we planned and there are some amazing treats to enjoy such as Mauritian street food from Island Box, Afghan street food from 2 Lads Kitchen, the sensational 7 Wonders of Falafel and some really special drinks offerings from Pothecary Gin, Zzinga Honey Cider and Poole’s very own marine marvel that is Shanty seaweed botanical vodka.”
The music lineup also features the cream of Dorset’s homegrown local artists with the always-popular party starters Mother Ukers, Rat Race and Jimmy Hillbillies, as well as promising singer songwriter Carley Varley and the highly-rated Mischa & His Merry Men.
“After the success of the first festival last year, we know there’s a real appetite for our special recipe of amazing food and drink, feel good live music and the gorgeous setting of Upton House gardens on the edge of Poole Harbour – pretty tasty!” says festival organizer Serena Wren.
“What’s more, we’ve kept ticket prices down as we want to make sure Upton House Food & Drink Festival is accessible to as many people as possible. So, let’s all get together with our friends and make the most of the weekend.”
With two sessions a day at 11am and 5pm (4.30pm on Sunday), tickets are just £3 for adults, £1.50 for children and £7 for families for each session. Those who want to stay all day should book both sessions and will be issued with a wristband so they don’t need to leave between sessions.
