Live At Poole Lighthouse Album
Hampshire four-piece acoustic guitar band We Are Robot is releasing on 26th September; an eleven-track recording of their recent December performance at the Live & Unheard event at Lighthouse, Poole. The recording has been professionally remastered by Gareth Matthews at the brand new Absolute Music studio in Bournemouth. The album features an all-original track selection spanning the band’s two albums, as well as a couple of brand new previously unreleased songs: “Me and My Girl” and “Can We Just Rewind”. On the evening in question, the band was joined by the Live & Unheard host Matt Black who added some beautifully executed piano work to the songs.
I was personally lucky enough to attend the event and it came up just after the 2nd lockdown and I remember everyone being a little nervous to return to live music. The gig itself was in the larger “Towngate” theatre which enabled easier social distancing. The sound in the theatre was just sublime and you can hear from the recording that the band put on one really great show. I quote from my review of the evening “you cannot fault anything they do, the five musicians all play in perfect unison delivering beautiful melodies and wondrous harmonies”. It is so amazing that the recording has been captured for us and future generations to enjoy.
