Sirpico

Dorset four-piece band Sirpico have just released their latest single “Digital Me” and like all their material, they focus heavily on the sentiment. “Digital Me” is no different! Frontman Al says “we are all experiencing this digital revolution together, what a time to be alive right?? It is the story of today’s technological revolution and how we should celebrate it” The track is the much anticipated follow-up to their 2020 single “Jamie Lee”, which was all about an infatuation with the “Halloween” actress Jamie Lee Curtis.

Like the vast majority of Sirpico’s material it’s big bold and uplifting, for 3 minutes 44 seconds it takes you away with a celebratory tale and how technology makes our lives better. Come on, how would we have survived the current pandemic without the internet, Netflix, Whatapp, Zoom calls and all the other wonderous benefits. The song shows a band with an ongoing creative streak, with them all playing their parts like the well-oiled machine that they are. Al’s towering vocals; along with his epic work on the ivories is complemented with Dan’s beautifully inventive guitar work, coupled with some incredibly funky rhythms from Paul and some ingenious drumming from Tim. It’s always annoyed me why this band are not bigger than they are, their tunes like this deserve to be played on the radio and seen on television – they certainly would not be out of place on the Jools Holland show. (Jools Holland please take note!!)
