for bank holiday weekend 22nd – 24th May
The Cursus Festival returns to Dorset with another outstanding line-up of live music on bank holiday weekend, May 22nd – 24th.
It’s a small festival which continues to aim big, with the Dutty Moonshine Big Band announced as this year’s Saturday night headliners. The phenomenal 14 piece Bristol collective will come to Cursus straight from a major UK tour which is set to cement their reputation as one of the best live bands on the festival scene.
They’ll be joined by a stellar bill of acts across a range of genres, including ska-punk heavyweights Random Hand, folk-rockers The Leylines and amazing upcoming talent Emily Capell who has recently toured with The Selecter and Madness. The best of the West Country will also be represented with local favourites Black Water County, Skimmity Hitchers and The Tribe all on the bill. DJs and a late-night fireside session are also part of the Cursus party experience.
Now in its sixth year Cursus has gained a reputation as an intimate and friendly festival, welcoming families, groups and solo festival-goers alike. It is also one of the few festivals that allow dogs to attend, as long as their owners are properly trained!
The festival emphasises simplicity and quality, putting people at the front of the Cursus experience. Real ciders, locally sourced food and communal campfire add to the relaxed and rustic atmosphere on the beautiful Cranborne Chase, between Blandford and Salisbury.
Festival Organiser, DJ and Town Crier Chris Brown said; “Nothing beats the thrill of a small festival in full swing, and this year’s Cursus Festival looks set to be the best one yet. Come and join us for a weekend to remember on May bank holiday weekend.”
