Salisbury music pioneers Flow & Hustle have just released their new hard-hitting single “Novichok Ghost Town”. The song was of course inspired by the now world-famous Novichok horror that hit their town in 2018. The poisonings caused untold impacts on the Wiltshire town and the crossover band wanted to narrate the happenings of this in their own way. The song reflects the many questions raised by many about the effect of this on their home town. As well as the tune the BBC are currently in the process of making a three-part factual drama series about the event. The band combine their original Hip/Hop leanings with Ska Legends The Specials 1981 number one hit “Ghost Town”.
The band features members of Salisbury’s award-winning act Lyrical Monsoon; along with former Sirpico drummer Kristian Dluzewski, who have all created new alter egos for themselves. The four-piece bring together a host of exciting influences and using the rudiments of modern music, combined with Hip/Hop bring something quite unique and topical. Though familiar to most the “Ghost Town” tune has been blended with care, featuring a mix of infectious styles; along with a fast and furious urban style vocal delivery, which puts the points of the event across in a distinctive way. The single is out now and can be downloaded for free at the link below.
