Dorset singer/songwriter Helena Mace has certainly been commanding plenty of attention recently; what with her stunning performance at the Live & Unheard at Poole Lighthouse, her various awards nominations and her recent appearance on ITV’s Meridan news. TV Legend Fred Dineage and his news presenter sidekick Sangeeta Bhabra told the story of how Helena’s social media pages were hacked and taken over by a Vietnam sunglasses saleswoman. Helena; despite many obstacles, took on Facebook – fighting to get her pages back and through true determination won. To continue with this momentum she has announced the release in August of the third single form her forthcoming album called “Unbroken”.
The single has plenty of auto-biographical content and is about never giving up, no matter what obstacles are put in your path. Helena is bravely dealing with a tumour in her head and all the symptoms that go with this. She is a girl that will carry on no matter what and turns negatives into positives using them to her advantage. The tune was recorded at Matt Black’s “Hangover Hill Studio” in Blandford with the lyrics being written by Helena.
The song has a real strength at the heart of it and features some great production, which combines the guitars with some beautifully played piano work, topped off with sincere powerful vocals that clearly come from the heart. Helena is a finalist for “UK Country Radio” for 4 categories this year for Album of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Country Artist of the Year; plus the “Gary Perkins Angel” award for her services to music. The new album is due out in the spring of 2020 and is sure to surpass anything that has been released previously.
