Hope FM Studio, Bournemouth
Stanford are a two piece, now husband and wife team who met seven years ago on Stanford Road in Lymington. They have both performed with various other artists around the local area including Shona Lowe, Thinker and Poison Whiskey. They really enjoyed their time playing with these other artists, however they both have a burning desire to just write their own songs. The vast majority of these songs are about their own personal experiences within life including family, relationships and parenthood. The duo want a platform from which to perform these newly written songs, so they took themselves out on a tour of all the Open mic sessions across Dorset and Hampshire. The “Open Ended” tour has gained them many respected friends as well as a lot of contacts within the local music business.
Terry and Rachael have recently released their debut single “Letters”, a beautiful song with some really passionate, meaningful lyrics with a subject that the majority of people can really associate with. The single is currently available through iTunes and can be purchased through the link here.
Stanford came along to the Hope Fm studio as a guest of Conrad Bar, who’s monthly Solid Air show on Livewire Live features a diverse collection of artists. Stanford continued this theme by bringing their own brand of Country influenced music, the duo performed four songs amongst some very lively banter which included a whole host of subjects. This their first radio session included some brand new, recently written material that included the songs “So Wrong”, “Just Fine”, “All Of Me” and “Fools Comfort”. They had a simple set-up with a mandolin and acoustic guitar, along with their great harmonised voices. The chemistry between the two of them is just electric and the excitement they created when playing was a sheer joy to watch. The exclusive videos of Stanford’s excellent performance can be seen below.
