Hope Fm Studio, Bournemouth
On the eve of her 18th Birthday Kaia Vieria and her drummer/percussionist Tim Crook arrived in the Hope Fm for a very special “Solid Air” live session. Kaia has been performing regular live shows now for a couple of years now, since I first saw her, Kaia’s own self confidence has grown massively. The girl I first saw was shy and very unsure of any real direction. Watching her performance tonight with all of her own compositions, there is some really great influences being introduced including some of her own original heritage from Portugal.
Kaia recently reached the finals of the Bournemouth Unplugged competition where one of the tasks was to write a song about a given subject. Kaia chose “water” and the result was the beautiful “Underwater Love” all about how love engulfs and overtakes you just like water. Tonight’s five song performance included the ever growing skill of using a loop pedal and working together with Tim’s great percussion skills.
Kaia has been in Ben Jones (Sunstone Collective) studio working with Tim and a double bassist on a much anticipated EP release. This girl is one of Bournemouth’s brightest hopes of going global, she has all the right ingredients to take her music all the way to the very top. The vocal range is absolutely superb, her lightly plucked guitar skills and her very humble manner will thrill any audience she plays in front of. The exclusive videos below are just a sample of watch Kaia is capable of go and see her perform locally live while you still have the chance.
