Scrap any plans you may have had for this year’s August bank holiday, because the Mr Kyps Upbeat Festival is back!
Following on from the runaway success that was last year’s inaugural Upbeat Festival, Mr Kyps will once again be taking over Upton Country Park this coming August Bank Holiday for three days of family fun, great music and glorious sunshine.
Last year’s festival featured such internationally recognised artists such as Imelda May, Sandi Thom and Toploader, plus an entire day devoted to the cream of the crop of Britain’s tribute acts.
This year will be no different, with none other than The Feeling headlining Sunday’s bill alongside a whole host of quality original bands including 90s summer pop sensations Dodgy, first-wave British Invasion legends The Zombies, and a whole host of nationally and internationally acclaimed acts. Saturday’s festivities see the very best tribute bands from all over the country performing their hearts out throughout the day. From Dirty DC to JK as Robbie Williams, Viva Santana to RU40 and some of the best local bands in the shape of Lady Winwoods Maggot and The Rat Pack, plus a VERY SPECIAL headliner TBC that promises nothing less than an audio/visual spectacular rounding off Saturday night.
Monday’s show is a real family treat, being the Bank Holiday and all. Just £10 on the gate will get you in to see a fantastic line up of Bootleg Blondie, Dorset’s ultimate party band Rat Race, local soul survivors Souled Out, and of course the inimitable Queen imitators, and Mr. Kyps favourites, The Great Pretender with The HRH Band. Alongside our main stage we are also very proud to announce the arrival of our second stage,which will play host to a selection of the top local bands from around the area. As well as the music, Upbeat Festival 2012 also features the very best in gourmet festival cuisine courtesy of Urban Guerilla, a friendly and professional Kids Area, plus much much more to confirmed.
